Off to Port Macquarie!

Cruz helps me pack as we get ready to head off to Port Macquarie for the Scody Half Ironman Triathlon. After the event we stayed a few extra days and made it our first little family holiday.

Dedicated fans

We had a 5am start to get to the event as they closed all the roads down. We were all so exhausted, luckily we didnt have to exert ourself for the next 5 or so hours like everyone else had planned!

Wetsuits all around for the 6.30am start

Cruz & Crowie

Cruz hangs out with the World Ironman Champion Craig 'Crowie' Alexander while we wait to see mike come past again

Transition

You can see Mike right up the top left putting his helmet on

The last leg

Still enough left in the tank to give us a thumbs up as he begins the 21km run

Jelly Legs

Our Hero!

He made it! 5 hours 21 minutes and not one bit of walking.

Sheer Exhaustion

No. 1 fan!

We gave mike a preview of the shirt Cruz had planned to wear for the big day 'Team Mortlock' (which ended up being signed by the world ironman champion!)

You don't even have to put the money to make this kid happy!

Aqua Golf

ric kindly assists mum with her technique, we knew she would need it after asking the night before 'how wet do you get?'

Twins!

Too cute, I couldn't resist! Top half for Cruz & bottom half for dad

About to test out the new swimming gear

Recharging the batteries....

Cruz's first beach experience

The water was freezing! every time a wave came he would tuck his feet right up to avoid getting wet (maybe he is going to love the beach about as much as his mother?!)

Swimming!

Today Cruz had his first swimming lesson... No tears and a few smiles here and there, he went through the tunnel and hoop and even under the water! He was very lucky to only have one other bub in his class and a very happy young bloke teaching him who knew great songs to swim and splash to! He also had quite a large fan club.

"Do I look as silly as him in this hat?!"

Cruz loved playing with the pool toys.....

But didn't want to give them back!

After the lesson Cruz and Adam shared an aqua cuddle

Proud Gran Fay

We all through Cruz was a star at swimming, especially Gran Fay!

Fay's Birthday Lunch

After swimming we all headed indoors for a nice lunch to celebrate fays birthday (a week early as mum will be in Melbourne)
